Online Dating Safety
Just like with regular dating, online dating requires you to use your better judgment to be safe and secure. Here are some tips:
1. Patience
Don't rush to meet someone after just a couple messages. If they truly are interested in you they will wait until you are ready to meet. Get to know the person through our website before talking to them over the phone or your private email. Ask many questions; they will help you to get to know the person. Make sure you've seen at least two current photos. Having patience is vital in online dating.
2. Protect your identity
For your own safety do not share any personal information with members that you just started communicating and do not post it on your profile. Personal information includes and is not limited to such information as your full name, your personal or work address, personal email, phone numbers, any IDs , any financial information, etc. Learn about the person you are talking to as much as possible to assess his or her level of integrity first. When you are ready to communicate with a member off from Catholic Singles only provide them your email address.
3. Trust your instincts
Pay close attention to every detail in the message. If something doesn't add up, keep asking questions until you are satisfied with the answers. Follow your better judgment; if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is. If you are in doubt, ask an opinion of a friend, family member or email our customer support team.
4. Remember: you are in control
You are in charge when communicating with members; do not forget that. To keep that control is best if you communicate through our website until and if you are sure about the person. Then you can take it to the next level and talk over the phone or via your personal email. When you decide to meet a member in person, let your friends and/or relatives know about your date, where you meeting and when you will be coming back home. The first date should be is a public place ONLY.
5. Avoiding sexual assault
We don't offer criminal background check of new members. However we do manual approval of all new membership applications to detect any possible fraud or false information. Prior to dating you should assume that the person is guilty until proven innocent. During the first few dates we recommend that you have your family members or friends to join. Once you get to know the individual we recommend to keep meeting in public places for a period of three to six months.
When going out on a date, make sure that at least two members of your family or friends know where you will be and time you expect to return. They should contact police if they don't hear from you. Christian Singles Commitments Corp. and its websites (including catholicsingles.biz) is being held harmless against any damages for any rape charges or sexual assaults resulting from dating online.
